Flexible coverage for flat and low-slope roofs

EPDM is a flexible single-ply rubber membrane used on flat and low-slope areas. It can suit extensions, garages, dormers and porches, particularly where straightforward roof shapes allow broad sections of membrane to reduce joints across the main surface. For each rubber flat roof in Newark, we inspect the supporting deck before installation. It must be stable, clean and suitable for bonding. We then lay and bond the membrane while forming secure corners, edges, outlets and wall junctions. Flexibility is useful, but careful preparation still decides how well the finished roof performs.

Plan where the water goes before covering

Even a fully waterproof membrane shouldn't be asked to hold standing water without good reason. We assess the roof's falls and drainage before installation, checking whether runoff can reach an outlet or gutter edge effectively. Perimeter details must also keep wind and water from getting beneath the membrane. EPDM may suit a project better than a rigid system where flexibility and simple large-area coverage are priorities. We'll compare it with other practical choices after inspecting the shape, deck and junctions, then set out the selected system and preparation in writing.
