Repair or replace? How to choose
Most roofs that leak can be put right with a well-made roof repair: a few slipped tiles, a cracked ridge, a worn valley or failed flashing around the chimney. Fixing the real cause properly can add years to a roof for a fraction of the cost of replacing it.
A new roof starts to make sense when the tiles are failing across the whole roof, the felt underneath has perished, or you are paying for patch repairs year after year. Flat roofs follow the same logic: small splits can be repaired, but a tired felt roof is often better replaced with GRP fibreglass or EPDM rubber.
